Problem

Independent UK takeaways needed online ordering, table booking, in-store EPOS, delivery, and card payouts — plus an internal ops system to onboard clients, manage domains/menus, and bill them. Fusion Innovative split that into Fusion Kitchen (consumer + white-label sites), Fusion My Business / partner EPOS, and Fusion Suite CRM for sales, contracts, and support.

Role

Team Lead managing multiple products in the restaurant SaaS suite. Led backend and product delivery across Fusion Kitchen, FMB/partner APIs, and CRM — top contributor on the Fusion Kitchen Slim API and Partner Desktop, guided Urban Piper / QR / menu-automation initiatives, and shipped both Slim/PHP APIs and React frontends with a large shared engineering team.

What I built

  • Consumer and white-label restaurant APIs: discovery, menus, OTP+JWT login, checkout, wallet, subscriptions, and table booking (Slim 4; lead author on FK API).
  • Per-restaurant multi-tenant MySQL — each client opens its own database from a central lookup.
  • Stripe Connect payments (card, Klarna, PayPal) and restaurant transfers/payouts.
  • Partner/EPOS APIs for live orders, table service, staff, delivery zones, and discounts (top author on Partner Desktop).
  • FMB reporting: Stripe payouts, withdrawals, daily settlement, and FCM; substantial shared CRM work for clients, contracts, and Fusion Kitchen ops.
  • SSO (Google/Facebook), dedicated refunds API with Docker packaging, and React consumer/client experiences.
  • Originated and guided Urban Piper integration, custom QR ordering, and menu-automation workstreams for the team.
